Waku Waku Japanese – Lesson 23: Personalities

In this lesson of Waku Waku Japanese, Konomi teaches you words to describe a variety of personalities!

Majime – earnest, serious
まじめ

Omoshiroi – funny, interesting
おもしろい

Yasashii – kind, nice
やさしい

Ijiwaru – mean
いじわる

Wagamama – selfish
わがまま

Akarui – bright, outgoing
あかるい

Kurai – gloomy, depressing
くらい

Shinkei shitsu – uptight
しんけいしつ

Ooraka / nonbiri shiteiru – laid back, carefree
おおらか/のんびりしている

    You mean, "We are funny, aren't we?" then it is "Omoshiroi desyo?" if you are emphasizing "WE ARE funny" then you'd say "Watashitachi omoshiroi desyo?" just add who you are talking about before the adjective. If you are a boy, you'd say "Omoshiroi daro?" but those ways to say this are only for informal conversation.

    What is "Are we?" I mean like describing someone like "Omoshiroi, Are we?" like asking it smuggly.
