Persian/Iranian Cuisine – Eric Meal Time #499

Iranian cuisine (Persian: آشپزی ایرانی āšpazi-e iranī) comprises the cooking traditions of Iran. The term Persian cuisine is used as well due to the fact that Iran is historically known as Persia in the West, even though ethnic Persians are only one of Iran’s native ethnic groups that have contributed to the culinary culture.

Typical Iranian main dishes are combinations of rice with meat, vegetables, and nuts. Herbs are frequently used, along with fruits such as plums, pomegranates, quince, prunes, apricots, and raisins. Characteristic Iranian flavorings such as saffron, dried lime and other sources of sour flavoring, cinnamon, turmeric, and parsley are mixed and used in various dishes.

I feel sad about the tiny cage the budgies are living in. But the food and overall atmosphere looks good.

Great video so glad your finally tried persian food. Just fyi the yogurt wasn't a sauce but rather a side dish. Traditionally we have yogurt , green herbs and some sort of pickled vegetables as side dishes to big meals to clean the palette as well as a counter balance to the fattiness of the meal.

Next stop persian sandwiches if they are available in japan

You mispronounced almost all the food names which was Funny as Hell... The Tomatoes ARE BBQed and NOT Stewed ! ! !...
You should describe what You are tasting ( Maybe You should asked the manager how to Pronounce and how to eat these foods) ... all in all this was very cool...

Next time try to eat them together. Tomato, butter on the rice and yogurt have the role of additing moisture to the food as well as complement the tastes of kebab and rice. If you eat each one separately it wouldnt be as good as being together.
BTW hummus is not Iranian but more of Arab middle eastern, although recent years you can find it in Iran too.
Iran actually has the beer with many tastes and they are very popular. They are without alcohol though.
It is interesting to have Persian foods in Japan but they dont look all that original.
    Nice video
