“Yatai-Ramen” Vanishing Pull-cart Ramen in Tokyo : Japanese Food | 屋台ラーメン

Pull-cart ramen is quite rare in Tokyo these days. It’s called “Yatai-Ramen”. Yatai is a wooden stall on wheels. The numbers of “Yatai-ramen” have declined. Today only a few “Yatai-ramen” exist in Tokyo.

I remember back in the old days in Yokohama, when the cart came around our neighborhood. My mom would send me out with bowls to buy some ramen. I remember Yaki imo also..

Very cool ! I bet it was really good in that cold evening air. Yatai Ramen, I have a desire to check these out. You are fortunate to be where they exist. Enjoy them for us !

We have a similar thing in indonesia, except its not ramen but bakmie (a.k.a. mie ayam or chicken noodles) which is a lighter and simpler version of ramen with a soup laden with msg (and its delicious). God I miss eating by these carts.
