3 Unique Cafes in Shibuya: 3D LATTE ART, CBD Cafe, Old-Fashioned Kissaten

PLEASE NOTE: This video was filmed before the second state of emergency was declared in Tokyo. As a precaution against covid-19, the video production team always wore masks, sanitized their hands, and had their temperatures checked in restaurants. Our team is now working from home, as recommended by the Japanese government.

In this video, Shizuka visits 3 distinct cafes in Shibuya, trying 3 totally unique cups of coffee.

First, she visits Reissue, a cafe close to Harajuku’s colorful Takeshita Street, which opened in 2015. Reissue is famous for their Instagram-worthy 3D latte art, though the latte artist on staff can also make realistic 2D paintings in chocolate syrup on top of the foam. Bring a photo for inspiration; they can latte-ify just about anything!

Next up is HealthyTOKYO CBD Shop & Cafe, which features a vegan and mostly gluten-free menu. CBD-infused drinks and foods are available, as well as their original CBD products. Shizuka tries their CBD-infused matcha latte and coffee! (NOTE: HealthyTokyo’s CBD products are derived from organically grown industrial hemp and do not cause a “high.”)

Lastly, we finish off the video at a traditional Japanese kissaten which serves classic hand-drip coffee and chiffon cake. Notably, Satei Hato is among the coffee shops that inspired James Freeman, CEO of Blue Bottle Coffee. Their no-wifi policy keeps the charming, old-fashioned spirit alive, and the coffee master, Toyoshi Taguchi, chooses the cup specifically to suit the guest, from a collection of hundreds of coffee cups.

I would try the CBD cafe for the vegan treats. They looked really good. I was wondering if you could add the costs in the video, either on the screen or in your description box, please. Someday I will get to Japan. Its #2 on my wish list after Hawaii.

I'll probably never go to japan. Cuz I'm stuck with my tiny little tokyo in LA and Torrance. But we have shitload of chinese food and korean food.

    I am Japanese.
I heard that caffeine and CBD in coffee go well together.
It's hard for me not to be able to sleep, but it'll be a must for businessmen.

When I saw this on my recommendation I knew the third cafe will be featured. I've been there and it's the most aesthetically pleasing cafe that I've been to around Tokyo. If you don't mind the price tag it's a must-visit.

I absolutely adore that atmosphere of that cafe: Satei Hato. Do you have any recommendations of that kinda place to drink whiskey(s) etc?

You can tell the CBD kicked in during the final location lol. One of the best videos on the channel btw! Those teacups are something to behold. Great reactions as well!

    Great video,
Can you do a tour of tea shop and comparing different grades of matcha? I would love to learn about the different grades.
