I've had a pretty good experience speaking English with Japanese people. Someone told me to try to pronounce it like if it was written in katakana or hiragana. That makes it waaaay easier then my usual more American-ish way of speaking. I've been told by a Japanese friend that he tells everyone traveling there to try it. Is absolutely not fool proof, but absolutely worth a try. Also starting out with a simple 'Sumimasen, Nihongo wa wakarimasen' or even 'Sumimasen, Eigo?' seem to make most people relax and remember what they learnt in school.

This is my first time being on this channel and I have to say that that accent of yours is a pure blessing for my ears. Oh my. The way you talk is so soothing ~ Regards from Slovakia. Have a nice day & stay safe ~

Did you learn English in the UK? I feel like I detect a slight accent but I could be wrong. I really want to visit Kyoto someday, it's on my travel list (once there's no longer a freaking pandemic).

I heard that places like the robot show are tourist traps. I would only visit the historical places, not the modern tech places that want your money haha. Also, I didn't know that "take the plunge" is a common idiom in Japan, originating from the story that was explained in the video. I think that is pretty cool!
