Shrines & Street Food in Kyoto! | JAPAN TRAVEL VLOG

I’m back with another Japan Travel Vlog! Today’s video is all about Kyoto! This week’s vlog features ancient shrines, Japanese street food, fascinating history, and a maiko show!
We took the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Hakone to Kyoto where we stayed for 3 days. On the second day we took a day trip to Osaka, which I’ll save for another video so stay tuned (and subscribed) if you want to see that one! On our first day in Kyoto, we started at Fushimi Inari Taisha, one of Kyoto’s oldest and most historic shinto shrines and known for its 1,000s of torii gates!
For lunch, we headed over to Nishiki Market, a 400 year old market place, where we picked up all kinds of delicious street food! After eating in Maruyama Park, we went to Sanjūsangen-dō to see the amazing Buddhist temple with 1,001 golden statues. Our second and last day in Kyoto was way more chill since we grabbed last-minute tickets to a Maiko performance and shopped around for souvenirs. Another amazing stop on our Japan trip! More Japan travel vlogs coming soon!
*As a reminder, this vlog is from a 2019 trip to Japan before the COVID-19 outbreak.*
